Kentucky's competitive travel lacrosse team. Athletes from Kentucky High schools coming together to develop, promote, and showcase Kentucky Lacrosse. Our values include good sportsmanship, teamwork, fun, and leadership. Bats LAX is dedicated to honoring the game of Lacrosse. We expect parents, players and coaches to conduct themselves as examples to all.
This club will prepare you for competitive high school lacrosse and playing in college. The player gets out of the club what he puts into it. The club is a commitment, but not the only thing you do. The club emphasizes learning and coaching through competitive play in tournaments and games. The player, however, must be properly prepared to play and understand the team playing philosophy. Therefore, players are expected to make all practices so they have the fundamentals required to play.
The Bats carry a roster of 25. However, alternates are chosen and do play in the majority of tournaments due to summer vacations, other camps, other travel team membership, and so forth. So just because you are an alternate, doesn't mean you don't get to play. Likely play just as much if not more. Once you make the team, there is a $300 fee. This covers uniforms, field expenses, administrative costs (i.e. insurance), and other fees that arise. You get to keep the softgoods. Fundraising efforts are also expected. All Bats will have the opportunity to pay all their fees and travel through our fundraising opportunities. You can utilize these and offset costs or pay the full registration and travel fees per tournament. Costs per tournament range based on the distance. However, playing for the Bats is very affordable, fun, and you play with and against the best.
