The Bats are proud to announce Head Coach Shane Andersen. Coach Andersen brings an impressive set of credentials to the Bats that will without doubt bring energy, knowledge, enthusiasm, and assistance in continuing the course the Bats have set for their players.
Coach Andersen played Attack starting at Bellarmine all four years under the late Coach Jack McGetrick. According to coach Andersen, "This was a true honor. Not only was he my coach, he found a way to be a mentor to all of us. Jack taught us to have mental toughness, the competitive drive and the ability to work for something bigger than oneself." These teachings translated on and off the field, so when he graduated he was "ready to be an asset in any field that I choose." Favorite Quote: "I will be a rock 'til the day I die." -Jack McGetrick.
Coach Andersen hails from Denver, Colorado attending J.K Mullen High School and coached by Ryan Powell. In High School, Coach Andersen was first team all State 2005, 1st team all conference 2004; 2nd team All conference 2003, 1st team All State 2005 (Hockey). He played Attack for Team Colorado and won the Vail Shootout his Senior Year.
While playing Attack at Bellarmine, he was the leading scorer in 2008 and was all conference honorable mention in 2010. His philosophy, "Play as fast as your ability allows." A firm believer in practicing full speed so we are prepared to play the game at full speed. He firmly intends to educate the players in the "free flowing concept" of Lacrosse and to educate our players to concepts that will allow them to transition to the college game. "Any other group of lacrosse players is just a team; we come together to play the game as a family," (Jarrett Davis-former Bellarmine player and current NLL Rochester Nighthawks, MLL Rochester Rattler)

This has been a tremendous year of growth for the Bat athletes. The level of competition that we have faced and the development of our players have paid dividends for our players. Over the summer we have had 9 Bats make the All American Adidas team for team Tennessee and team Ohio. We had Bats on the Under Armour All American team. During the Gait Cup we had a Bat make the All Star team. Bats have done well and made Champ Camp. Many Bats attended camps through out the summer which provided numerous opportunities for college coaches to evaluate them. Many Bats have received letters from many College coaches from D1 to DIII, with the list too long to highlight. It is with pleasure that we will have many of our Bats performing at the collegiate level next year and the years to come. The time has arrived that people have recognized the talent that players in Kentucky and Indiana have to offer.
